About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Buyer with a strong background in Mechanical and Electrical procurement to join our team at Empower Digital Limited. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, ensuring procurement activities are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and source products that align with our company's brand and customer preferences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Ensure that goods, materials, and services are procured in accordance with specified requirements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure correct rates and trading terms and delivery schedules.
  • Develop additional or alternative sources of supply and maintain lists of accepted vendors.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers regarding product quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Raise and maintain purchase orders as required and match invoices to purchase orders.
  • Expedite all outstanding purchase orders.
  • Coordinate and update register in line with project budgets.
  • Monitor supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and reliability.
  • Liaise with the operational teams in respect of stock levels, transfer and deliveries and assist where possible.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, including contracts, orders, and supplier correspondence.
  • Support Procurement Manager in Ipswich Business Unit with procurement activities.
  • Ensure end of month invoicing of goods is carried out appropriately.
  • Adherence to internal procedures and good purchasing practice.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Buyer in the Mechanical and Electrical purchasing field.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent personal integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to staff at all levels.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Full permanent working rights in the UK.
  • UK current and clear manual driving license.
  • Team player.
  • Proactive approach to developing and sharing knowledge and nurturing the development of others.
