Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health and Learning Disability team at NHS Dumfries & Galloway. As a Specialist Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred interventions and group work programmes to support individuals with mental health and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the clinical team to deliver high-quality occupational therapy services
  • Develop and implement group work programmes to promote independence and well-being
  • Collaborate with wider third sector, community teams, and support agencies to ensure comprehensive care
  • Provide training and development opportunities to meet the needs of the team and service users
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for service users and staff

Requirements:

  • Current driving licence (or alternative transport arrangements can be made for individuals with disabilities)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of mental health and learning disability services
