Role Overview:
The Care Team Supervisor plays a vital role in our care home, overseeing the daily operations and ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of care. This position involves direct engagement with both residents and staff, fostering a positive environment and promoting excellence in care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Deputy Manager to coordinate resident assessments, ensuring that each resident's needs and preferences are prioritized in their care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely communication regarding resident care, ensuring a person-centered approach is upheld.
- Work alongside the care team to guarantee that appropriate care levels are consistently met.
- Oversee medication administration processes, ensuring compliance with auditing procedures and identifying training needs.
- Assist in the recruitment of care staff, ensuring efficient management of contracted hours and ongoing monitoring of recruitment needs.
- Engage regularly with family members to update them on resident care and progress.
- Manage team member attendance and conduct return-to-work interviews following absences, with support from management.
- Facilitate effective handovers between shifts, ensuring that all relevant information is communicated to the management team.
- Provide daily guidance and support to Senior Care Assistants and Care Assistants, leading by example.
Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is essential; NVQ Level 4 or equivalent management qualification is desirable.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in long-term care or a related field.
- Proven experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating care delivery.
- Experience working with elderly individuals is required.
