Building Services Engineer for Multiple Locations

Property and Facilities Management | Permanent | Full Time

40 hours per week

Nuffield Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare provider in Britain, is on the lookout for a skilled Building Services Engineer to enhance our team at various Fitness and Wellbeing Centres.

This position entails overseeing a comprehensive and effective preventative maintenance strategy for the entire facility, which includes the building structure and its surrounding environment. Additionally, the role requires addressing all maintenance inquiries and issues promptly and efficiently, adhering to company policies, procedures, and current health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing all monthly Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks.
  • Complete daily and weekly Building Services checklists.
  • Manage and resolve all reactive maintenance requests within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Understand and apply COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
  • Support the management of all Health and Safety Management System documentation.
  • Conduct pool maintenance and perform regular pool/spa testing during shifts, alongside fabric-related tasks.
  • Safely receive and store all pool chemicals in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Foster a positive and productive working relationship with all team members.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in prioritizing health and safety management within the Building Services domain, ensuring that policies, risk assessments, and safe working practices are established.
  • Ensure that inspection and checking processes are carried out as required, with prompt action on any deviations.
  • Proactively report any health and safety concerns to the General Manager and Nuffield Health Operations Manager.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior experience in a maintenance facility role.
  • 3 Day ISRM Pool Plant room qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative team player, dedicated to service excellence.
  • A qualification in electrical or HVAC systems.
  • IOSHH Qualification.
