We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Jean Heyes Rehabilitation Unit, based at Leigh Infirmary. The unit provides a supportive environment for individuals who require a period of bed-based, Nurse & Therapy led rehabilitation, enabling them to achieve specific goals and safely discharge back into the community or their own home.
Main Responsibilities- Assist and work under the direction of Registered Nurses, Chartered Physiotherapists, and State Registered Occupational Therapists
- Work with adults being medically optimised prior to discharge in the Jean Heyes Rehabilitation Unit
- Assist in the administration and clerical duties of the unit
- Administer and monitor the stock of aids for independence and other departmental equipment
- Work flexibly when required, covering a 7-day 24-hour service
- Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent competencies gained through job experience
- Previous experience in a UK Healthcare setting
- Good written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
- Life skills gained through work or personal experience
- Able to work single-handed with groups or individuals
- Good level of personal organisation
