Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team on a fixed-term basis. This pivotal role reports directly to the Financial Controller EMEA and is essential for ensuring the delivery of a precise and high-quality accounting service within your designated divisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly closing procedures for Management Accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements. Responsibilities encompass reconciliations, accruals, allocations, revenue downloads, pre-payments, variance analysis, and commentary in alignment with established timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Balance Sheet Integrity guidelines through thorough reconciliations.
  • Timely escalation of issues to the Finance Manager as necessary.
  • Manage Financial Reporting and Analysis, including Group reporting and supplementary documentation.
  • Lead a team of R2R accounting professionals, ensuring effective planning and prioritization of tasks to enhance team performance.
  • Publish financial results in relevant finance systems.
  • Facilitate communication between the Shared Service Organization (SSO), Group finance, and Business Teams.
  • Participate in acquisition integration and due diligence processes.
  • Engage in departmental projects, including key process testing and systems improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in the integration of new products into the SSO accounting framework.
  • Analyze and resolve ad-hoc issues utilizing business and systems knowledge.
  • Fulfill tax and compliance responsibilities as required by the SSO.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience in leading an R2R team within a large accounting function.
  • Comprehensive understanding of R2R processes and best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of SSO processes and their integration into the broader organizational context.
  • Proven ability to lead and support a team during challenging periods.
  • Strong time management skills, capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities based on available information.
  • Effective people management skills, actively engaging in talent development discussions.
  • Strong presentation abilities.
