Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support for Learning Assistant to join our team at East Dunbartonshire Council. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with additional support needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to children and young people with additional support needs, working under the direction of the Principal Teacher, Support for Learning.
  • Assist pupils with specific learning activities, helping them to follow instructions and organize their work.
  • Supervise pupils outwith the classroom, ensuring their safety and well-being in areas such as the playground, corridors, dining area, and during PE and organized school trips.
  • Establish positive relationships with children and young people, demonstrating a pleasant and tolerant manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Proven capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Desirable: relevant qualification in childcare or a related field.
