Job Title: Engineering Trainer

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Trainer to join our team at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). As an Engineering Trainer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality technical training to apprentices and learners, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver technical training sessions to small groups of learners, using a range of teaching methods and materials.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the apprenticeship standards and trailblazer schemes, ensuring that training is aligned with industry needs.
  • Manage and maintain physical learning resources and teaching spaces, ensuring that they are safe and suitable for learners.
  • Contribute to the development of new training content and materials, working with industry partners and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback and support, helping them to achieve their goals.
Requirements:
  • High level of engineering knowledge and experience, preferably gained through several years of industrial experience.
  • Experience of teaching and training methods, including adult learning principles and assessment techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with learners, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a degree or HNC/HND in a relevant subject, and a teaching or training qualification.
