Legal Cashier

We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join our busy and growing team in Coventry. As a key member of our financial department, you will provide support to the Financial Controller, Partners, and internal staff to ensure the smooth running of the department and firm.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Payment Processing: Check and process cheque, BACS, and Chaps payments with high accuracy.
  • Invoice Management: Check and process invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.
  • Client Account Management: Control and reconcile Client Account.
  • Petty Cash Management: Control and reconcile petty cash.
  • Accounts System Management: Open new matters on the accounts system.
  • Money Laundering Checks: Conduct money laundering checks.
  • Time Sheet Processing: Process time sheets.
  • Filing: Maintain accurate and organized filing systems.
  • Daily Banking: Prepare daily banking.
  • Expense Claims: Check and process expense claims.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform one-off tasks as required by the Financial Controller or Head of Cash Office.
Requirements:
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Ability to work under pressure with a high standard of accuracy.
  • Accounting Knowledge: General understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles and terminology.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Technical Skills: Good understanding of Excel, Word, and MS Office.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to work within the requirements of confidentiality.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.
  • Additional Duties: Willingness to take on additional administrative duties and responsibilities.
