Care Assistant - Care and Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Gowrie House Care Home. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting residents with their daily routines, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall health and happiness are prioritized. You will work closely with our care team to deliver personalized care plans and provide hands-on support to residents who require extra help.

Key Responsibilities
  • Empower residents to make positive choices and remain as independent as possible.
  • Follow and support each resident's personalized care plan, providing thoughtful attention to their individual needs.
  • Keep a close eye on residents' health, communicating any concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager.
  • Uphold the dignity and respect of each resident, ensuring they feel valued and cared for in every interaction.
  • Encourage social interactions among residents and with staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Work with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces.
  • Assist residents who need extra help with eating and drinking, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
Requirements
  • SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience as a Care Assistant, or a passion for care and transferable skills.
  • Genuine interest in caring for the elderly and commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Integrity, respect, and a strong sense of teamwork.
