Position Overview:

As a Lead IT Infrastructure Specialist at Murphy, you will be an integral part of the Core Technical team, overseeing the daily management and administration of all IT Infrastructure services across our sites and offices in the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver operational expertise across all IT Infrastructure services, including hardware, software, networking, and cloud solutions.
  • Contribute to Information Security processes across various technology services, ensuring that all IT Infrastructure solutions are securely designed and operated in accordance with best practices and company policies.
  • Assist technical and leadership teams in providing a cost-effective service that aligns with the operational and commercial needs of the business.
  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Architect and Programme function to support the ongoing planning, design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of Murphy's technology estate within approved budgets.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to IT Commercial and Operations teams in the design and execution of technical Infrastructure projects during bid and mobilization phases.
  • Maintain established technical blueprints to standardize project Infrastructure delivery.
  • Provide tactical and strategic guidance within the Technical Design Authority (TDA) as needed, ensuring best practices and standards are clearly defined and adhered to by the broader IT technical team.
  • Ensure appropriate governance across all IT technology services in terms of compliance with company and IT-related projects, driving continuous improvement and best practices to foster a high-performing team.
  • Actively participate in the design and implementation of long-term strategic objectives and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining future IT Infrastructure services.
  • Exhibit strong Service Management skills in relation to escalated support tickets (Incidents and Problems) and contribute to the Change Board process (CAB).
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a dynamic individual who demonstrates technical leadership, possesses excellent communication skills, and is a collaborative team player. The ideal candidate will have the ability to comprehend complex requirements, analyze them objectively, and deliver robust solutions.

Essential Experience:

  • Proficient in administering public cloud services, primarily Microsoft Azure and 365.
  • Experienced in managing, administering, and mobilizing services, particularly IaaS, PaaS, networking, and security services, including the Microsoft Defender suite.
  • Skilled in managing and administering both virtual and physical Microsoft server environments, including VMWare technologies.
  • Experienced in managing and administering identity and directory management services (Active Directory / Entra) within large organizations.
  • Familiar with working closely with third-party Security Operations Centres (SOC).
  • Knowledgeable in cybersecurity principles, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
  • Experienced in managing and administering Microsoft SCCM, Intune, and Endpoint Manager for modern device management.
  • Understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, switching and VLANs, VPNs, routing, and corporate Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Utilization of technology, including scripted and automated techniques, to replace manual processes and enhance operational efficiency across the IT team.

Qualifications:

Industry certifications are desirable, particularly in Microsoft Azure and 365 (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700).
