Compensation: £27.73 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage legal casework as assigned by the senior lawyer, which includes providing general and specific legal advice, coordinating with Counsel, professional experts, and external partners for overflow work. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting intricate legal documents pertinent to their caseload.
- Assist in the preparation of witness statements and help prepare witnesses for Court appearances.
- Provide supervision and training to Legal Assistants through detailed work instructions.
- Oversee the management of files during the interim phases of court proceedings.
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
- Proven understanding of primary and secondary legislation and the applicable law related to local authorities, especially in the relevant field.
- Extensive knowledge of the legal area associated with the position.
- Familiarity with the Local Government Act 1972 and other relevant legislation to ensure compliance.
- Dedication to staying updated on legal changes and developments, ensuring the team benefits from this knowledge.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and a commitment to participating in relevant in-house and external training.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in applying quality assurance principles.
- Proven track record of managing legal work with a high degree of accuracy, reliability, and timeliness.
- Experience working effectively within a collaborative team environment.

- Availability for immediate work or short notice is essential.
- Eligibility to work in the U.K. is required.
