The Emergency Unit at Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Emergency Unit Receptionist. This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Emergency Unit.
Main Responsibilities- Register all new patients and ensure accurate filing and transmission of patient records
- Take and relay information related to patient care, answer telephone queries in a courteous and efficient manner
- Refer to a Registered Nurse those telephone queries requiring patient care or advice
- Inform the Nurse-in-charge of any patient presenting in distress or who appear acutely unwell
- Report any concerns about patients' well-being, complaints or queries regarding a patient's condition to the relevant clinician

Requirements- Recent experience in a receptionist, administrative, retail, hospitality, or voluntary role with the public
- Experience of face-to-face working with the general public
- Experience of customer services
- NHS experience
- GCSE in English and Mathematics or equivalent experience
- Literacy commensurate with responsibilities and duties
- Ability to obtain key information and record in an appropriate format
- Maintain their personal development
- Knowledge of IT patient administration systems (computerized)
- Knowledge of hospital departments
- Flexible approach to the needs of the service
- Welsh language skills (desirable)
