Locum Consultant in Metabolic Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Metabolic Medicine to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Clinical Biochemistry Molecular Service and providing medical expertise to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Medically lead the Clinical Biochemistry Molecular Service
- Provide medical advice and reviews to patients and healthcare professionals
- Liaise with other clinical services, including ICU, medical and surgical teams
- Authorise laboratory results and provide clinical advice
- Participate in research programmes and projects to support translational research and develop own research interests
- Special interest in Diabetes, Obesity and Lipids
- Experience in clinical biochemistry and metabolic medicine
- Strong research focus and ability to participate in research programmes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The post holder will work on a 1:4 rotation with other Metabolic Medicine consultants based on the Charing Cross site, to provide laboratory out-of-hours cover. The department has strong links to Imperial College and the Clinical Trials Centre.
