The Quality and Risk Management Team (QRM) plays a pivotal role in offering leadership, guidance, and resources to assist partners and staff in managing quality and risk effectively. This diverse team includes specialists in Advisory and Compliance, Chief Information Security, Economic Crime, Legal matters, and Quality Monitoring, all collaborating closely with the firm's Technical Standards Group and Ethics Team.

As a Senior Manager, you will thrive in both proactive task management and collaborative environments, engaging regularly with senior managers, directors, and partners to enhance our service delivery. You will be encouraged to identify opportunities for improvement and additional services for our clients.
The International Standard of Quality Management (UK) 1 (ISQM1) mandates that BDO LLP establishes a comprehensive system of quality management (SOQM) to ensure compliance with professional standards and that our reports are suitable for the circumstances. This standard also requires continuous monitoring and annual evaluations under a reasonable assurance framework.
With ISQM1 implemented, BDO is committed to refining its quality management system to elevate audit quality and maintain consistent standards across all assurance services.
We are currently seeking applications for Senior Manager positions within the ISQM1 team, which is led by two Partners and supported by Directors. The Senior Managers will report directly to the Directors and will have responsibilities that align with their interests and expertise, including:
- Conducting risk assessments;
- Overseeing annual evaluations;
- Designing and managing tooling solutions for the SOQM;
- Testing and monitoring internal controls;
- Staying informed on regulatory developments and coordinating responses to external inquiries;
- Preparing reports for internal governance and leadership, with opportunities to present findings;
- Engaging in design and remediation efforts with process owners;
- Assisting in the transformation of processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACA/ICAS or equivalent);
- Experience in a large professional services environment;
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape for audit firms;
- Background in audit quality management or ethics;
- Understanding of control mechanisms and their application;
- Previous experience with ISQM1 or SOX is advantageous;
- Strong networking abilities and relationship-building skills;
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Creative thinkers who can connect insights across projects;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
