Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Dorking Healthcare Ltd. as a Medication Optimisation Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, leading on repeat prescribing and medication optimisation initiatives.

• Support the delivery of the Network Contract DES Service specifications, focusing on structured medications review and optimisation.
• Lead on tackling over-medication of patients, including inappropriate use of antibiotics, and withdrawing medicines no longer needed through NHS-led programmes.
• Conduct regular clinical pharmacy-led medicines reviews for Enhanced Health in Care Homes residents.

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Mandatory registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Independent prescriber status.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organised, good time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Positive approach, calm under pressure.
• Good IT skills, sufficient to use Word, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to produce timely and informative reports.
• Demonstrated accountability for delivering professional expertise and direct service provision to patients.
• Can-do attitude to daily tasks, adversity, and new ways of working.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in an understandable form to a variety of audiences.
• Persuasive skills, with the ability to gain acceptance of recommendations and influence/motivate/persuade others to comply with recommendations/agreed course of action.

We require the successful candidate to be:

• Willing and able to travel to different DHC/GP sites and attend meetings, training events, etc.
• Able to work in the evenings and at weekends.

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience of working in a similar role before.
• Specialist knowledge acquired through post-graduate diploma level of equivalent training/expertise.
• An appreciation of the nature of GP practices.
• An understanding of the nature of primary care prescribing and strategies for improving prescribing.
