About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Worker to join our Thurrock Rough Sleepers Outreach team at Sanctuary Supported Living. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our outreach staff and other external agencies to support vulnerable customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly assess the needs of customers by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training, and employment
  • Support customers in their day-to-day living, including cooking and cleaning
  • Offer advice on fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assist customers with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encourage social inclusion and help customers build their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Work with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of customers and actively encourage choice and involvement, or act as an advocate when required
  • Promote safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks
Requirements
  • Experience of working with adults who have experienced homelessness
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong 'can-do' attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Strong organisational skills, as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities while working to deadlines and targets
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards is essential
