About the Role
The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in fostering growth and collaboration for the Adam Smith Business School (ASBS). You will be responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and driving engagement with external stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to generate a consistent pipeline of learning, teaching, and research opportunities. This includes student consultancy projects, guest speaker engagements, collaborative events, and knowledge exchange initiatives.
- Manage existing and new partnerships with external organizations, ensuring their needs are met and they have access to the expertise they require for successful academic and student outcomes.
- Provide dedicated support to academic staff in navigating external engagement opportunities. Collaborate with colleagues to identify potential collaborations in research and teaching, promoting knowledge exchange and impact.
- Contribute to the development of a compelling 'engagement offer' that aligns ASBS expertise with external needs. Continuously refine systems and processes to optimize business development across the School.
- Monitor progress against established KPIs, ensuring alignment with the overall business development strategy.
- Support internationalization efforts by optimizing existing relationships and forging new partnerships beyond the UK.
- Contribute to the growth of executive education programs within ASBS, identifying opportunities for income generation.
- Maintain accurate records, processes, and systems to effectively manage business development activities.
About You
You are a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a proven track record in business development and relationship management. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build rapport with diverse stakeholders. You possess a strategic mindset and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
