Job Description

At Ansys, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Testing Engineer to join our Fluids product development testing team in our Sheffield office. As a Software Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for testing our CFD software, other Ansys software components, and managing acceptance testing for each release of the products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test the software effectively, providing high-quality feedback to developers on how to improve the software quality, within the appropriate timescales.
  • Gaining a thorough knowledge of the software under test, an understanding of how it may be used by customers, and of CFD.
  • Working on verification and validation of new models in the solver.
  • Assisting in the production of test specifications, requiring knowledge and skill in the software application to be tested, together with a thorough understanding of CFD.
  • Gaining knowledge of the automated testing systems and using it to develop new tests for the products being tested.
  • Gaining scripting experience.
  • Carrying out acceptance testing specifications, including installations, licensing, regression tests, and manual testing.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate in an engineering discipline – aeronautical, mechanical, or chemical.
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (for example C/C++, C#, Jscript, Python, FORTRAN) is desirable.
  • An interest in engineering simulation software (CFD).
  • An inquisitive, pro-active, and methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to tackle difficult tasks, taking them to their logical conclusion.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be working in a general office environment and should be able to work on the phone and computer for an extended period of time.
