Senior Fund Accounting Manager for Innovative Hedge Fund

An exciting opportunity awaits as the inaugural accounting professional for a burgeoning hedge fund, currently managing £1bn in assets under management (AUM) and poised for expansion. This position will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, providing oversight in both management and fund accounting. Candidates should be fully qualified accountants, with backgrounds potentially in accounting practice/audit, smaller fund management firms, or third-party fund administration. The primary focus will be on management accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly production, reconciliation, and approval of fund Net Asset Value (NAV).
- Oversee and collaborate with external accounting firms for the preparation of management company accounts across various entities.
- Contribute to the development of budgets, forecasts, and scenarios for the organization, including balance sheet projections and cash-flow forecasts.
- Assist with special projects, such as enhancing the infrastructure and internal processes for tracking employee reinvestment schemes.
Qualifications
- Must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience in management accounting within a small hedge fund or asset management environment is preferred.
- Fund accounting experience, particularly with hedge funds, is advantageous.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small organization.
- Strong academic background, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive, adaptable work style are essential.
