About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our procurement team at BDM Consultancy Services Limited T/A Ignite Recruitment. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality joinery materials and subcontractor services for our luxury retail clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement of joinery materials, hardware, and subcontractor services, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and delivery schedules for bespoke joinery materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure consistent supply and service levels.
  • Oversee supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, delivery times, and cost targets.
  • Collaborate with the design, production, and project management teams to understand project needs and specifications.
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and relevant documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.
  • Resolve any supply issues and manage risks related to material shortages or delays.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Buyer, ideally within the joinery or construction sectors, with a focus on bespoke and luxury projects.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery materials, sourcing processes, and supplier networks.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple procurement activities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in managing procurement documentation.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and experience working closely with production and design teams.
