Job Description

**Job Title:** Principal Engineer - Shock and Dynamics

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join our Shock and Dynamics team as a Senior Technical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our naval vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement shock and dynamics design requirements for sub-systems and structures.
  • Manage verification and validation (V&V) evidence to ensure sub-systems meet shock requirements.
  • Provide design guidance and technical direction to engineers and stakeholders.
  • Support the development of junior engineers and provide training and mentorship.
  • Undertake technical reviews and verify engineering designs.
  • Articulate and document subject expertise and approaches to extend business knowledge.
  • Provide technical direction and support to production teams.
  • Represent the shock design function through all stages of the product life cycle.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in shock and dynamics design and analysis.
  • Strong technical knowledge of finite element analysis, classical stress calculation techniques, and standard code formulae.
  • Ability to articulate and present technical arguments clearly and logically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
