About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Outstation Technician to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our train fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on train equipment, including electrical and electronic systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify technical faults on the service fleet to ensure units remain in service.
  • Provide technical support to depot teams in the provision of fault finding expertise and assistance with train repair activities.
  • Assist with the validation of documentation issued in support of maintenance and repair activities, special checks, modifications and trials.
  • Collaborate with systems support engineers and specialist engineers to resolve technical problems with trains, procedures, materials or component problems.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the Train Care Centre quality and safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Electrical based NVQ Level 3 in rolling stock or aircraft or equivalent.
  • Practical experience and a sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering aspects of modern Electric Multiple Units.
  • IT skills – competent user of Personal Computer, including office packages, email and intranet.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
