Position Overview:
As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for the design, specification, and management of residential construction projects aimed at modifying and enhancing the living conditions of our clients, ensuring they can maintain their independence and safety.

Probation Period: 6 Months

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and assessments of client properties, providing expert advice on repairs and enhancements.
- Guide clients in making informed choices regarding their health, wellbeing, and independent living.

- Exhibit thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, including Building Regulations, CDM regulations, and Health & Safety standards.

- Demonstrate understanding of contract law related to standard building contracts.

- Inspect and validate construction work for the purpose of contractor payment and valuation.

- Direct contractors regarding changes to specified work and evaluate associated costs.

- Approve or reject construction work based on quality assessments and compliance with contractual obligations.

- Monitor contractor performance as part of the organization's continuous improvement strategy.

- Conduct risk assessments to ensure personal and public safety in the work environment.

- Manage a dynamic portfolio of projects from initial assessment through to completion, ensuring performance targets are achieved.

- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively.

- Contribute to key performance indicators and maintain professional standards.

- Adhere to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and ensure the integrity of personal data processed.

- Participate in training and staff meetings as required.

Travel Requirements:
This role necessitates travel to various sites, and candidates must possess a valid driving license and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance.

Qualifications:
- Evidence of a strong educational background, including GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
- Recognized qualifications such as a BTEC in Building Construction.

- An enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this position.

Experience:
- Experience in managing and supervising contractors for domestic adaptations and repairs, including design and planning for extensions and significant modifications.

- Proficiency in producing accurate drawings using AutoCAD.

- Familiarity with preparing works for Planning and Building Regulations approval.

Skills:
- Comprehensive IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintaining electronic records with attention to detail.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and flexibility are essential.

- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues.
