Field Mobility Technician

Location: Service Centre

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

Holiday Entitlement: 23 days plus Bank Holidays

As a Field Mobility Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality service by completing comprehensive training in the workshop to gain essential product knowledge related to mobility aids.

Upon successful completion of your training, you will be responsible for field operations, which include the delivery, collection, repair, and maintenance of mobility aids.

Your initial responsibilities will focus on manual mobility aids, with opportunities to expand your expertise to electric mobility aids as you gain experience and undergo further training.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Transporting mobility aids to and from service users' residences and healthcare facilities while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Conducting servicing and repairs in the field, aiming for first-time resolutions whenever feasible.
  • Accurately documenting all job-related information, including parts utilized and actions taken, to assist the administration team in maintaining accurate records.
  • Complying with all regulations regarding the operation of company vehicles and understanding your responsibilities under health and safety legislation.
  • Completing weekly vehicle safety checks and maintenance logs.
  • Exhibiting a professional demeanor and providing excellent customer service, while maintaining a clean and presentable uniform.
  • Safeguarding all tools and equipment provided by the company, as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Participating in all necessary training to enhance your skills for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Full UK driving license.
  • Successful enhanced background check.
  • General workshop and basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including familiarity with 12v/24v systems.
  • Understanding and awareness of the needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Adaptability to changing work conditions and environments.
  • Ability to utilize mobile technology for communication and documentation.
  • Willingness to be available for emergency response and short-notice overtime as required.
