About the Role

The Matron - Community Health Leader is a key member of the senior leadership team within children's services, responsible for ensuring high-quality, safe care is delivered to children and families in the community. Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, 1st level with current NMC Registration.
  • Holds Specialist Community Public Health Nursing degree (Health visiting or School Nursing) qualification.
  • Clinical experience relevant to this post.
  • Post-graduate qualification relevant to the role.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Recognised leadership or management qualification.
  • Masters Degree.

Essential Experience:

  • A proven track record of operational management at a senior level in a Community environment, including staff, financial, and change management.
  • Proven track record of delivering the quality agenda, ensuring patient safety is paramount and at the forefront of planning services and resource allocation.
  • Demonstrable previous success in leading and delivering change and performance with and through clinical teams, engaging them in the strategic direction and delivery plans.
  • Establish clear work priorities, delegate appropriately, and effectively, ensuring a capability to deliver, monitoring performance, and giving feedback.
  • Experience of managing a budget within a clinical area.
  • Ability to think and plan, tactically and creatively.
  • Prioritise work programs in the face of competing demands.
  • A good understanding of the changing NHS environment.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of working in a Community setting.

  • Relevant professional standards/application of the NMC Code.
