Geophysicist Specialist

Risk Management and Quality Assurance (RSK) Group is seeking a highly skilled Near Surface Geophysicist to join their team in Helsby. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a rewarding and challenging career with opportunities for Continuous Professional Development.

The Geosciences team at RSK provides consultancy and design services to a range of external clients, including engineers, house-builders, oil companies, and local authorities. As a Near Surface Geophysicist, you will work within our experienced team under the guidance of the Principal Geophysicist and Team Leader.

• Preparation for and undertaking site work using a variety of geophysical techniques, data processing, interpretation, and report production.
• Mentor and/or line manage junior members of the team.
• Manage ongoing projects and liaise with clients as required.
• Preparing proposals.

• Near Surface Geophysicist (2-3 years' experience).
• Competent in use of GPR, ERT, Seismic Refraction, MASW, Microgravity, Magnetics, and Electromagnetic instrumentation.
• Experienced in processing data for the above techniques.
• Competent user of High Precision GPS, Total Stations.
• Competent user of 2D AutoCAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel, CAD, and some programming would be an advantage.
• Must hold a UK driving license.
• Must be prepared to travel and stay away from home when required.
