We are seeking a qualified Reporting Actuary to become a vital part of our Group Actuarial team, focusing on Financial Risk. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial risk metrics at the entity level for both Group and Legal & General Assurance Society. You will promote adherence to the Group framework while driving enhancements in reporting processes and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and precise delivery of specified financial risk metrics, including IFRS and SII sensitivities, to Group SST clients. This involves building and maintaining relationships with Divisional SST teams, conducting thorough results reviews, and supporting Group SST clients to maximize the effectiveness of results.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain robust reporting systems and processes, ensuring that risks are adequately assessed and controlled.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by taking ownership of enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of team processes and methodologies.
  • Promote compliance with the Group framework for both Group and Divisional activities, adapting the framework to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Actively engage in Group governance committee meetings and collaborate with Group and Divisional production teams and stakeholders regarding upcoming process and methodology changes.
  • Maintain relevant Group definitions and methodologies for aggregating financial risk metrics, ensuring that documentation is of high quality and current.
  • Support the prioritization, development, and implementation of changes to systems, processes, and methodologies, including the integration of IFRS17 financial risk metrics and the development of climate and liquidity-related metrics.
  • Represent the Group in financial reporting and related management information, establishing effective relationships with stakeholders across Group Finance, BAU Finance teams, Investments, and Group Risk.
  • Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of proactive engagement to ensure that deliverables meet quality expectations.
  • Provide assistance with the ad hoc production of financial risk metrics, including participation in PRA Insurance Stress Testing exercises, which may involve developing Group-level methodologies and coordinating tasks across various production teams.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A Qualified Life Actuary
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS and Solvency II Reporting Metrics, Annuity Products, and Risk & Regulatory requirements
  • Experience in IFRS and Solvency II reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to assess results for reasonableness
  • Proven stakeholder management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor messages to specific stakeholders for clarity and relevance
  • Experience in reviewing processes and implementing enhancements
  • Advanced skills in VBA and Excel are desirable.
