About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Luton Bennett, a leading manufacturer of materials handling equipment. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and breakdowns on a range of forklifts, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) and service work on forklifts in a workshop environment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on forklifts, using your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Order spare parts and materials as needed, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve production goals and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with plant, forklifts, HGVs, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery.
  • Strong mechanical service and repair skills, with a focus on engine diagnostics and basic electrical systems.
  • IT literacy and proficiency in using technical software and tools.
  • Desirable: Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
