**Job Title:** English Teacher - SEMH Specialist

**Job Type:** Full-time, Temporary-Permanent

**Location:** Guildford, Surrey

**About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at a Secondary SEMH School in Guildford, Surrey.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching English to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • The role involves planning and delivering dynamic and inclusive English lessons tailored to meet the needs of SEMH students.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong skills in managing challenging behavior and a deep understanding of the needs of students with SEMH.
  • They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to child protection and promoting the welfare of young people.

**Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and inclusive English lessons tailored to meet the needs of SEMH students.
  • Craft and implement personalized learning plans to address diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages respect, resilience, and a passion for learning.
  • Apply effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and external professionals to foster student development.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Engage in school activities, professional development, and training opportunities.

**Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching credential.
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary school level.
  • Strong skills in managing challenging behavior.
  • Deep understanding of the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to child protection and promoting the welfare of young people.
