Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team at Empower Family Group in Somerset, covering the Southwest Area. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Foster Carers to provide high-quality care to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, assess, and monitor the suitability of Foster Carers.
  • Support Foster Carers to evidence their competence against training standards.
  • Provide and record regular supervision in line with the agency's operational standards.
  • Undertake support visits and contribute to Foster Carer Annual Reviews.
  • Ensure that Foster Carers have an accurate and up-to-date Foster Care Agreement.
  • Identify learning and development needs and assist in the delivery of training.
  • Attend meetings to support Foster Carers, children, and young people.
Requirements
  • CQSW, Diploma in Social Work, or BA in Social Work.
  • Experience of working with children and families.
  • A knowledge of legislation relevant to children and families.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands.
  • Flexible approach to providing effective support to Foster Carers.
  • Commitment to personal self-development and training.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
