Job Title: Health Records Department Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health Records Department Manager to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Health Records Department, you will be responsible for the operational management of the team, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of healthcare records services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Health Records Department, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and accuracy of healthcare records, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of records to healthcare professionals.
  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare records staff, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of healthcare records services.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in healthcare records management, with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve high standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify areas for improvement, with a track record of implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
