Position: Metal Fabrication Specialist


Gi Group is currently seeking a Metal Fabrication Specialist on behalf of a reputable and established organization that fosters a positive working atmosphere.

Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Metal Fabrication Specialist is to manufacture and/or assemble metal components, parts, and structures according to specifications provided by management.

Working Hours:
Standard 8-hour workday, Monday to Friday

Compensation:
£16 - £23 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
The Metal Fabrication Specialist will be tasked with the following:

  • Fabricating a diverse range of steel products in the workshop
  • Accurately cutting metal to specified dimensions using tools such as guillotines, plasma/laser cutters, or manual methods
  • Bending and rolling metal into required configurations
  • Welding to a high standard using MIG/TIG techniques
  • Grinding metal components to achieve desired finishes
  • Interpreting and working from detailed CAD drawings
  • Utilizing various machinery and equipment (after receiving appropriate training), including guillotines, rollers, welders, brake presses, plasma cutters, forklifts, and power tools
  • Applying paint, either manually or via spraying, while adhering to safety guidelines
  • Installing machinery and parts on-site for clients
  • Constructing structural steel buildings
  • Operating company vehicles for site travel
  • Maintaining accurate records of time spent on each task
  • Occasionally working on-site as required.
