Position Overview

Senior Information Technology Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

We are looking for a skilled Senior Information Technology Engineer to enhance our IT department, concentrating on internal processes and collaborative systems. This position plays a vital role in sustaining and improving our IT framework while supporting a cloud-focused environment. You will engage in strategic projects and provide direct assistance across various locations and remote teams.

Core Responsibilities:

Your duties will include overseeing internal IT operations, networking, and cloud-based services, as well as creating and updating systems architecture documentation. Safeguarding data, network integrity, and backup systems will be essential, along with spearheading hardware and software enhancements. You will diagnose and rectify system challenges with strategic solutions, assess emerging technologies, and conduct cost/benefit evaluations. Furthermore, you will assist in IT financial planning and manage the IT Helpdesk System.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in senior IT positions, particularly in network management and troubleshooting
  • Expertise in Cisco networking environments
  • Cisco certifications are advantageous (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of VPN, DNS, DHCP, LANs/VLANs, and firewall administration
