We are seeking an experienced and motivated dentist to join our dynamic Special Care Dental Service at Solent NHS Trust. As a Senior Dental Officer, you will play a key role in delivering routine and urgent dental care to patients with complex needs.
Main Responsibilities- Undertake thorough examinations of patients and provide dental care assessments.
- Plan and manage patient care, including complex medical co-morbidities and situations requiring involvement of other professionals.
- Provide comprehensive dental screening, survey, and treatment services, including emergency treatment for patients requiring Special Care Dentistry.
- Identify and manage medical emergencies, leading the dental team in first-line management and organizing training and resources.
Solent NHS Trust is working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organization, bringing together community, mental health, and learning disability services. Our new organization, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will provide more consistent care, equitable access to services, and a sustainable workforce.
Requirements- Current full registration as a dental surgeon with the General Dental Council.
- Foundation (Vocational) Training or equivalence and current Performers List number.
- Experience of organizing, managing, and running clinics and support staff.
- Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development and currency within GDC requirements.
