Job Title: Project Surveyor
Job Summary:
VGC is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost-related aspects of a critical infrastructure project in the Warwickshire area. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the project remains within budget while meeting all contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project expenditure and identify potential cost overruns
- Provide expert advice on cost management and commercial strategy
- Negotiate contracts and resolve commercial issues with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Ensure financial aspects of the project align with its overall objectives
- Prepare regular financial reports, cost forecasts, and variance analysis
- Maintain detailed records to support project audits and compliance checks
Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills and a proven track record in cost management and quantity surveying within large-scale infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in cost reporting
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Adaptable to the dynamic environment of a major infrastructure project
- Proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of NEC contracts and legal and regulatory frameworks governing large-scale projects
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or railway projects
- Experience with NEC contracts and a strong understanding of cost management software and financial reporting tools
