Job Description

Job Title: Project Surveyor

Job Summary:

VGC is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost-related aspects of a critical infrastructure project in the Warwickshire area. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the project remains within budget while meeting all contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor project expenditure and identify potential cost overruns
  • Provide expert advice on cost management and commercial strategy
  • Negotiate contracts and resolve commercial issues with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure financial aspects of the project align with its overall objectives
  • Prepare regular financial reports, cost forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Maintain detailed records to support project audits and compliance checks

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills and a proven track record in cost management and quantity surveying within large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in cost reporting
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Adaptable to the dynamic environment of a major infrastructure project
  • Proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of NEC contracts and legal and regulatory frameworks governing large-scale projects
  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or railway projects
  • Experience with NEC contracts and a strong understanding of cost management software and financial reporting tools
