Job Title: Band 7 Highly Specialised Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Private Patient Unit (PPU) at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a highly specialised Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based therapy services to patients with complex needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Occupational Therapist to take on a leadership role in our multi-professional therapy team. You will be working closely with Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants, and a Dietitian to provide high-quality care to patients.

The successful candidate will have significant experience working with patients with physical and cognitive disabilities, particularly in areas such as neurology, ICU step down, orthopaedics, elderly care, medicine, and surgery. You will be responsible for clinical supervision of one or more therapists and will have the opportunity to lead on the development and implementation of multi-professional education and training programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist, evidence-based therapy services to patients with complex needs
  • Lead on clinical supervision of one or more therapists
  • Develop and implement multi-professional education and training programmes
  • Participate in research and development to evaluate and develop the specialist therapy service
  • Support staff with service development to ensure provision of a high-quality, patient-centred service
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration in OT
  • Completed relevant post-registration specialist courses
  • Member of Specialist OT Section group
