Level/Salary Range: Competitive Hourly Rate
ROLE OBJECTIVESWe are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic casual coach to assist in the execution of our youth cricket initiatives. Coaches will be engaged on a temporary sessional basis through Somerset Cricket Foundation. We aim to attract innovative and passionate individuals who can help expand our youth cricket programs in the community. Each coaching session lasts one hour, typically scheduled for the evening.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with young individuals in the community to foster ongoing participation in cricket activities.
- Support weekly cricket sessions and occasionally take the lead in coaching.
- Serve as a positive role model for participants during sessions.
- Build rapport with young people to encourage their engagement and development.
- Assist Somerset Cricket Foundation in maintaining attendance records and registration documentation.
- Promote a positive image and reputation for Somerset Cricket Foundation.
- Comply with all relevant policies and procedures of Somerset Cricket Foundation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Core Coach or Foundation Coach certification (support available for suitable candidates to obtain these).
- Experience working with youth, particularly those with additional support needs.
- Enhanced DBS check (provided by us).
- Safeguarding and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to travel to coaching sessions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- People Management: Ability to foster positive relationships with young participants, adapting communication styles to meet individual needs.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adjust to the evolving demands of the coaching role.
- Professionalism: Maintain appropriate boundaries while working with children and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.
