You will work closely with various departments to integrate sustainability practices throughout our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulating and executing sustainability strategies that support the company's net zero ambitions.
- Tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
- Ensuring adherence to applicable sustainability regulations and standards.
- Creating carbon reduction plans and objectives, driving initiatives, and documenting progress.
- Compiling sustainability reports as necessary.
- Overseeing resources such as energy, waste, and materials to minimize environmental impact.
- Preparing sustainability data for financial reporting.
- Building relationships with stakeholders to enhance awareness and engagement in sustainability and ESG initiatives.
- Advocating for best practices in sustainability.
- Establishing sustainability KPIs and a performance dashboard, and implementing a comprehensive monitoring program to ensure data integrity and alignment with our sustainability strategy.
- Collaborating with colleagues to incorporate sustainability considerations into operations and align suppliers with our sustainability objectives.
- Leading the execution of environmental commitments, including net zero goals and waste management strategies.
- Coordinating and managing contributions from external consultants.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (core hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM).
Candidate Profile:
The successful applicant will be a proactive and confident individual with a strong sense of ownership, ready to engage in projects and enhance their understanding as they progress. The following qualifications are essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in sustainability or environmental management.
- In-depth knowledge of climate change and strategies for reducing carbon footprints.
- Experience in sustainability management and strategy formulation.
- Exceptional presentation skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, including communication, relationship building, negotiation, decision-making, and influence.
- High self-management capabilities, including organization, planning, self-motivation, creative thinking, and emotional intelligence.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in sustainability.
- A deep passion for sustainability, with expertise in various environmental areas, including net zero pathways and waste management.
- Familiarity with sustainability certifications.
- Experience with carbon modeling tools.
- Proficiency in using standard office software applications.
Compensation: Competitive salary range of £35,000 - £40,000, negotiable based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
