Principal Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Principal Estimator to lead and take ownership of the estimating process for our high-value projects. As a key member of our preconstruction team, you will collaborate with our supply chain partners to deliver accurate costs that meet the project scope and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a tender procurement strategy to ensure a robust profit plan and supply chain engagement schedule.
  2. Complete or manage project take-offs to the required level of detail, up to SMM 7/NRM2 for all trades.
  3. Provide detailed cost information packages during the substantiation process, including completed comparisons, bills of quantities, tender books, and quotations.
  4. Collaborate with the production team to ensure logistics, programmes, sequencing, and buildability activities are accounted for during substantiation.
  5. Review performance of supply chain partners with the site team.
  6. Ensure all design/survey fees, including CDPs, are captured within the proposed costs.
Requirements
  1. Successful delivery of tenders.
  2. Experience with Conquest Estimating system or similar.
  3. Taking off quantities up to SMM 7.
  4. Controlling costs, timing, and quality in line with targets.
  5. Managing a team.
  6. Reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
  7. Proactively liaising with customers.
  8. Identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process.

  1. Essential: Good demonstrable standard of written and spoken English.

Professional

  1. Essential: Appropriate CSCS card.
