When not on-site, you will be based at our headquarters, where you will develop traffic and crowd management strategies, conduct risk assessments, and prepare for upcoming deployments. The position requires flexibility, including late nights and weekends, but offers midweek days off, a competitive salary, and a potential career trajectory towards an operations director position.
The ideal candidate will excel in collaborating with our casual teams while nurturing high-level stakeholder relationships. We are looking for a proactive individual who can efficiently manage multiple tasks across different venues.
Next-Link provides services to prominent events and sports organizations across the UK, including major football clubs and high-profile events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the continuous management and growth of the operations team, providing performance evaluations and constructive feedback through regular one-on-one meetings.
- Lead all service lines, including Event Traffic Management, Security, Stewarding, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation, and Event Parking.
- Ensure comprehensive operations documentation is prepared for each event, including risk assessments and management plans.
- Collaborate with other department heads to forecast operational needs and manage resources effectively.
- Oversee the management of company assets, including equipment and uniforms.
- Implement strategies to drive company growth and enhance service offerings.
- Stay at the forefront of industry innovations and participate in relevant industry events.
- Work closely with the Staffing and Recruitment Manager to ensure adequate staffing levels and quality.
- Address HR issues on event days and collaborate with HR to resolve them.
- Manage the welfare and morale of a large front-line workforce to ensure Next-Link is a preferred employer in the industry.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and legal requirements.
- Provide timely reports to management regarding operational challenges and risks.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked and ensure proper payroll processing.
- Safeguard sensitive personal data in accordance with GDPR regulations.
- Support senior management in developing client relationships and contribute to tender submissions.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an operational or events environment.
- Proven track record in line management with effective coaching abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications with a keen eye for detail.
- Must possess a valid UK Driving Licence and be willing to travel extensively.
- Relevant qualifications in spectator safety and security are desirable.
