Job Title: Data Analyst

Thorpe Molloy McCulloch Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join their team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Data Analyst to support our financial reporting and accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, collaborating with the tax team, and providing accurate information for tax provisioning and planning purposes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review annual legal entity financial statements, including consolidated financial statements prepared under IFRS.
  • Tax Support: Collaborate with the UK Tax Team to supply accurate information for tax provisioning, tax returns, and tax planning purposes.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare monthly income statement and balance sheet over the month-end close period, ensuring required elements are booked and understood.
  • Variance Analysis: Collate variance analysis on key metrics of production, opex, capex, abex, revenue, free cash flow, and working capital on a monthly basis for management reporting.
  • Financial Package: Assist in preparing the monthly financial reporting package for group financial reporting and support analysis through the tools and schedules provided by the shareholder.
  • External Audits: Liaise with External Auditors throughout the group and statutory audits.
  • Asset Management: Support in preparing monthly ARO accretion adjustments and annual ARO liability updates.
  • Revenue Accounting: Prepare the monthly revenue accounting in coordination with the Marketing and Production Teams, including sales, revenue accruals, and overlift and underlift.
  • Fixed Assets: Prepare and maintain the fixed assets register, including additions, depreciation, and impairment postings.
  • Intercompany Balances: Support in closing monthly intercompany balances.
  • Accounts Aging: Prepare accounts aging.
  • Financial Information: Assist in preparing financial information for Board meetings.
Requirements:
  • Professional Qualification: Professional accounting qualification.
  • Financial Reporting Experience: Experience in financial reporting and accounting roles, with an understanding of statutory reporting requirements and consolidation processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
