JOB OVERVIEW

Wood is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a fixed-term role within our operations. This position involves a rotational schedule designed to ensure optimal production efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manufacturing technicians are expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of the facility, operational processes, and the equipment pertinent to their sector.

Primary duties include:

o overseeing and managing machinery, o collecting data and maintaining operational logs, o executing isolation and reactivation procedures as necessary, o preparing work authorization documents, o setting up complex machinery and equipment for maintenance tasks, o configuring intricate machinery and equipment for operational readiness.


  • Manufacturing technicians are also tasked with diagnosing production issues or equipment failures within the facility.
  • Implementing initial corrective actions as dictated by their role.
  • A manufacturing technician must be proficient in interpreting Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Technicians should be well-versed in operating essential safety apparatus.
  • Technicians must conduct task-oriented risk assessments and address hazards in accordance with company protocols.
  • Effective communication is crucial, utilizing various formats (verbal, written, and digital) to ensure seamless information exchange and shift transitions.
  • Technicians should have a solid grasp of industrial methodologies and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate the competencies necessary to observe, collect, and report process data, perform isolations, and troubleshoot a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Possess knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, alongside safe operational practices, while considering sustainability factors.
  • Understand and adhere to reporting structures and procedural guidelines.
  • Be aware of the preparation and reinstatement protocols concerning the workspace, materials, and equipment, along with the potential repercussions of improper actions.
  • Propose enhancements and develop modification requests aimed at improving equipment efficiency and operational safety.
  • Know which tools and equipment to utilize, when to use them, and follow appropriate training, methods, and safety procedures.
  • Recognize various defects and faults that may arise and the appropriate responses.
  • Employ a range of digital tools and technologies to assist with work-related tasks and facilitate communication.
  • Properly utilize permitting and authorization processes to uphold high standards of safety for both equipment and personnel.
  • Be capable of reading and interpreting relevant P&ID diagrams, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
  • Identify defects in machinery and assist with remedial actions as needed.
  • Be aware of regulatory guidelines and organizational requirements for the safe isolation and reinstatement of equipment.
