About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mission Critical Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team at Delkia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing equipment level engineering and supplier management expertise across a range of complex electronic hardware / Line Replaceable Items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the supplier's engineering programme to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.
  • Ensure distribution of design specification to suppliers, ensuring that all requirements are met and that products are designed to meet the necessary safety and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with procurement for technical advice and supplier liaison, ensuring that all procurement activities are aligned with the company's engineering and quality objectives.
  • Attend supplier reviews (virtual and face-to-face) as required, to ensure that suppliers are meeting their obligations and that any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Review and process supplier technical documentation (DRLs) and review and acceptance of any resulting amendments, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Coordinate evidence to support Certificate of Design delivery, including Technical Publications and Logistical support aspects.
  • Manage Change Application through CCBs, including recommending Type Change Classifications, to ensure that all changes are properly assessed and approved.
  • Process formal Change Proposals through to Change Approvals, ensuring that all changes are properly documented and approved.
  • Attend internal progress and management reviews, to ensure that the team is aware of progress and any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Support Certification Plan deliverable to the satisfaction of the CVEs, ensuring that all certification activities are properly planned and executed.
  • Support equipment Qualification Plans associated with Certification, optimising installation, rig, and flight testing as required.
  • Facilitate Certification gate review(s) with equipment CVE as the Design Authority, to ensure that all certification activities are properly coordinated and executed.
  • Facilitate and witness rig and flight test activities as required in relation to equipment certification, to ensure that all testing is properly conducted and documented.
  • Support to Physical/Functional Configuration Audits, to ensure that all products are properly configured and meet the necessary safety and regulatory standards.
  • Advising on In-Service Fault Investigations and Queries, to ensure that all issues are properly investigated and resolved.
Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites
  • Engineering Degree qualified or equivalent, with a strong understanding of safety-critical systems and avionic engineering.
  • 5 years' experience in avionic engineering domain, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality products and services.
  • Demonstrable experience and training of critically reviewing product-related regulations and standards, establishing a robust process to assure customer deliverables.
  • Expertise in the principles and application of ARP 4754, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-200, RTCA DO-254, and RTCA DO-330 or equivalents, to ensure that all products meet the necessary safety and regulatory standards.
  • An in-depth understanding of the full product lifecycle of programmes, particularly for the UK MoD and the MoD customer acquisition processes.
  • Broad Systems engineering lifecycle knowledge (ISO and application of associated Technical Reviews), to ensure that all products are properly designed and delivered.
  • Understanding of the MAA Regulatory Environment and MACP, to ensure that all products meet the necessary safety and regulatory standards.
  • Familiar with Avionic supply chains and capabilities, to ensure that all suppliers are properly managed and that all products are properly sourced.
  • Dedication to quality, configuration, reliability, security, and safety, with a data and evidence-driven mindset, to ensure that all products meet the necessary safety and regulatory standards.
  • SC Clearance or ability to attain, to ensure that all products are properly cleared for use in safety-critical applications.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and CAD / PLM / ERP literacy, to ensure that all documentation is properly created and managed.
