Chief Medical Officer (CMO) - Oncology Expert

Location: Remote

Hours: 20 hours per week - Contract

Type: Interim / Freelance

Barrington James is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Chief Medical Officer to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. As a key member of our clinical development team, you will play a pivotal role in leading our cancer programs with a focus on First-in-Human (FIH) trials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Clinical Development Strategy: Develop and implement clinical development strategies for our cancer programs, with a focus on FIH trials.
  • Oversee Clinical Trials: Design, implement, and execute clinical trials, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide Medical Expertise: Provide medical and scientific expertise to cross-functional teams, including research, regulatory, and commercial departments.
  • Regulatory Interactions: Serve as the primary medical representative in interactions with regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, and clinical investigators.
  • Participant Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of trial participants through rigorous monitoring and evaluation of clinical data.
  • Protocol Development: Contribute to the development of clinical trial protocols, informed consent documents, and other regulatory submissions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to advance clinical research initiatives and drive innovation.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in oncology to inform and guide clinical strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree: MD or equivalent medical degree with board certification in Oncology.
  • FIH Trial Experience: Proven track record in leading and conducting FIH trials.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to clinical trials and drug development.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Remote Work: Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
