Compensation: Competitive salary package Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and develop low-observable equipment, systems, and platforms by establishing technical specifications, evaluation methods, and acceptance criteria.
  • Assist in the creation of electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature documentation during critical review phases of the submarine design process.
  • Analyze the electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature impacts of equipment, systems, and the entire vessel using both commercial and proprietary software on our advanced computing cluster.
  • Conduct electromagnetic and non-acoustic instrumentation, measurement, and evaluation of submarine machinery at production facilities and onboard, ensuring that signature levels meet stealth requirements.
  • Support extensive electromagnetic and non-acoustic signature testing during significant commissioning phases.
  • Lead research initiatives within the department and in collaboration with partner academic institutions, focusing on stealth enhancement for the operational fleet.

Required Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Oceanography, or related fields (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience with computer modeling software and/or programming.

Desirable:

  • Background in defense, large-scale manufacturing, submarine, or naval engineering sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of electromagnetism principles.
  • Familiarity with radar systems and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of stealth technology advancements or ship/submarine signature management.

About the Stealth Engineering Team:

As a Lead Engineer, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the stealth capabilities of submarines. Your role will encompass all phases of the submarine lifecycle, from initial concept designs to the evaluation of the complete submarine during major commissioning trials.
