We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Workshop Technician to join our Lomondgate site team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fault finding and repair of diesel generators
  • Load testing of generators KVA
  • Major engine repairs and overhauls
  • Assess genset condition on returning fleet to SRC
  • Modification and upgrades to genset fleet
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems
  • Knowledge of engine ECM programming and diagnostics would be advantageous
  • Programming of control modules

The duties outlined above cover the focus of the role, but you may be required to carry out other duties that are reasonable and within your abilities to support other areas of the business.

You'll have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/mechanical subject (including apprenticeship)
  • Experience servicing and repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery)
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Good level of PC literacy, including basic MS Office applications
  • Well organised and capable of keeping vehicle to GSCS standards
