About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Learning Tutor, where you will play a key role in helping adults develop their skills and knowledge. You will work closely with our Community Learning Development Workers to deliver high-quality learning experiences that make a real difference in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans for your subject area, ensuring that learners are motivated and supported throughout their learning journey.
  • Keep accurate records and assess work appropriately, providing constructive feedback to learners.
  • Liaise with colleagues to participate in continuing professional development activities, including training sessions and support meetings.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and behaviour management strategies to maximise learning in the class, and provide guidance and support to learners as needed.
  • Signpost learners to additional resources and support services, helping them to achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • You must have GCSEs (Grade A – C or 5 – 9) in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification.
  • You must have a recognised teaching qualification at Level 3 above, or be willing to complete this within 12 months of starting the role.
  • You must have relevant experience of tutoring, training, or teaching practice, including producing schemes of work and lesson plans appropriate to target learners.
  • You must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners to reach their full potential.
  • You must be willing to travel to other areas of South Gloucestershire.
  • We are looking for enthusiastic tutors who can deliver a range of courses, including IT and digital skills, Functional Skills English or Maths, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and more.
