Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled MRI Radiographer to oversee a dedicated team within our MRI department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading clinical operations, ensuring training and competency standards are met, managing quality assurance, conducting MRI safety assessments, and keeping the MRI team informed of the latest practices and protocols. This role demands excellent communication skills, as you will serve as the primary clinical contact for radiographers and collaborate closely with various stakeholders including the MRI Quality Assurance and Clinical Effectiveness Lead, Radiologists, and the MRI Operational Lead.

Main Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a high-quality and efficient MRI service in partnership with the Operational MRI Lead.
  • Assessing and justifying examination referrals while performing a diverse range of MRI imaging procedures.
  • Evaluating clinical results in line with professional standards and departmental policies.
  • Maintaining exceptional patient care and imaging quality.
  • Participating in out-of-hours/on-call services as necessary.
  • Supervising and mentoring both specialist and junior radiographers.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • HCPC registration.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in MRI.
  • A solid understanding of MRI safety protocols.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in creating staff schedules.
  • Three years of post-graduate experience.
  • Experience within the NHS.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to effectively delegate tasks.
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office, PACS, and RIS.
  • Experience in conducting audits.
