We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team at an OUTSTANDING nursery in Berkhamstead. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teacher in the classroom and working with a group of key children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teacher in the classroom and work with a group of key children
  • Have experience of working with Early Years and be able to adapt to the needs of the particular group/individual children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Establish positive relationships with children, their families, and other professionals
  • Be responsible for protecting and safeguarding children
  • Be committed to the safety and well-being of all children and nursery users, respecting and understanding the importance of confidentiality
  • Contribute to the development of the nursery and be forward-thinking
  • Follow daily routines and contribute to the smooth running of the nursery
  • Settle in new children and provide ongoing support for them and their families as a key person
  • Interact positively and enthusiastically with children, taking into account their individual needs and abilities
  • Provide a friendly, caring, and relaxed environment to promote and develop children's learning effectively
  • Contribute to planning and resourcing a stimulating, purposeful environment that supports learning both indoors and outdoors
  • Record each child's progress, reporting on achievements and areas for development
  • Be accountable for the progress and outcomes of children in your key group
  • Maintain a 'Learning Journey' for each child whom you are Key Person to

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification for Early Years
  • DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one
